Lua templating

In the Japanese Object Show Community Wiki, there's a template called Dia, which uses Template:DiaM, which uses Module:DiaM (which also uses several modules).

Some context: Dia and its modules were ported from the Japanese Object CrossRoad & AviUtl Wiki template of the same name, which is a modified version of the English Object Show Community Wiki template, which itself is a modification of the English Battle for Dream Island Wiki template, which is based off of the dialogue boxes in the game BFDIA 5b.

The four wikis also have the templates DiaNone and DiaEmpty, both also based off of the dialogue boxes.

The Japanese OSC Wiki's Dia template currently looks rather inconsistent with DiaNone and DiaEmpty, which can be seen in the page ループキャスト/セクション0.

I want it to look like the English OSC Wiki version, which would make it look something like this:

How could this be done?

Been programming since the late 80's. In the various languages I have been exposed to and used, each of them gave the "basics" but also provided more "advanced" segmentation patterns & practices.

I have a current project I am working on, that I have used traditional Article-Driven Templates. I am exploring the possibility of using LUA Module Templates but don't see any clear lines for using LUA over Tradition; as it relates to Pro-Con.

What criteria should be met when deciding to transition from Article Driven templates to Module (Data) driven templates?
