DisableArchivedPages is a script that disables the main edit buttons on pages that have been marked as archived via the inclusion of an element with an id of archivedPage. This is useful for archived talk pages or forums, where further editing should be discouraged: unlike page protection, this script still allows editing by adding ?action=edit to the end of the URL (which lets experienced users fix broken links, et cetera) while still stopping most people from editing.
Please note that this script only operates in the project namespace, the forum namespace, and all the talk namespaces. It should only be used where appropriate. If you want to prevent all editing of a page, consider asking an admin on your wiki to protect it, or protecting it yourself if you are an admin.
