Since this works, where categories and links can also be included in creating foundational pages https://yaoi.fandom.com/wiki/Sweet%E2%99%A5Life?diff=25322&oldid=25321 and is a brilliant feature for creating articles overall perhaps it would be apt to move it from the experimental phase and certainly bring it into wider circulation. One beginning amendment could be to have the CreatePageForm in English when it appears once 'u:dev:MediaWiki:CreatePageForm.js', is installed (and having it visible without the .js added could help others see what it is). --S3r0-Ph1i (talk) 07:06, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
English Support[]
When will support for the English language come out? Because I feel like using this, but it only supports Russian. JoysticJason (talk) 16:46, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Allowing the input options to change data in a preloaded page[]
In creating a new page, templates with the preloaded information are required to be made, for instance when users would like to make an article for an anime that was released in 2010 in Type they could choose Anime then for the Year there is 2010 available which would result in this template loading:
{{Series_Infobox |genres = Genres |episodes = NumberOfEpisodes |image1 = ImageTitle |wiki = |titles = OtherNames<br/>한글 |released-anime = [[Content Released in 2010|2010]] - |director = DirectorName |languages=Japanese}} '''title''' is an [[List of Anime|Anime]] with episodes that began airing in 2010. It is directed by by ''director'' and produced by ''StudioName''. == Synopsis == == Background == == Characters == === character1 === === character2 === == Story == == Images == <gallery> </gallery> == Production Details == === Characters and Voice Cast === === Credits === == References == <references /> == Wiki Link == * An overview article on the entire series [[w:c:community:Special:CreateNewWiki|Create the '''SeriesNameGoesHere''' Wiki!]] for total coverage details! [[Category:Anime]] [[Category:First released in 2010]] [[Category:Anime started in 2010]]
For years 2000 to 2020 it would be the same template each time, just with the dates changed, so 20 templates in total for anime. Again people could choose an anime, 2000, 2018, whatever date it is and the dates are all ready on the page which saves having to change them manually throughout the article. The same would be done for Manga across the years, then Manhwa, Manhua, Novels, Games, Webtoons, it would be a lot of templates needing to be made and then categorized.
The area of development for the CreatePageForm that would be ideal to have is so when the feature is used,
People could choose Anime to preload the anime template, but when the year is chosen it would automatically add the date on the new page. It would likely involve something that can alter information on an already existing template, a {{subst:#explode:{{subst:PAGENAME}}||-1}} in a category creator can have the dates ready if something like that could be incorporated into the CreatePageForm. It would probably be best if that were involved with the <nowiki> tags so it didn't appear on the created article, just used in the CreatePageForm to allow the dates to be added. For anyone using the CreatePageForm, rather than create may templates, it would likely be more time efficient if the feature were amended so it was able to change the dates appearing on the template content itself. Is this possible to do? S3r0-Ph1i (talk) 16:07, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
