Could you add a further explanation?[]

It's not clear to me how to configure the script (while it says the configuration is requird) and how to implement the templates afterwards. Thank you in advance! Nam

Sorry, the same with me. I don't understand how to configure it either. On this wiki, i'd like to continue using my 'vandalism' and 'ban' templates. So... what do I have to do next? Help would be appreciated! YazzyDream 11:53, November 5, 2020 (UTC)

Yeah I guess the doc isn't really clear unless you know JS and some things about how the script works, I've added an example so that should hopefully help, let me know if you need more help with configuring it. --Sophie ♦ 14:00, November 11, 2020 (UTC)

Configuration check and error message[]

The script checks the configuration before checking whether the script was loaded before or if it's on the Message Wall namespace. Wouldn't that generate multiple console error messages on all pages of the wiki whenever the script isn't configured properly?

Edit: I realized that it's not on any repeating event so it's not that serious.

Also, why does it need to be limited to a presetted list of templates, and why does this list have to be limited in number? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Nevermind I was mistakenly interpretting the preload limit as a limit for the number of templates, and didn't get the UI.

I split it up like that so that I could error if the config isn't set, but I could move it around a bit so that it checks for the namespace first and then does other checks. --Sophie ♦ 13:43, November 11, 2020 (UTC)
Alright, edited. --Sophie ♦ 13:47, November 11, 2020 (UTC)

Templates with parameters[]

How would I add a template with parameters? For example I use {{Message wall notice|<type of notice>}} but I cannot figure out how to add it to the configuration. PineappleSnackz (talk) 14:41, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

The script doesn't currently support setting params in the config, you can use the textare to manually enter the template + param instead tho. --Sophie ♦ 14:50, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Additional Line Breaks[]

Hello,

I have been using this script and works well except for one small bug. For some reason when I insert the template (https://justdance.fandom.com/wiki/Template:DiscordVerification) it adds three line breaks before the text and one after despite no line breaks being present in the template. And I'm not saying it inserts <br> tags, there's just three blank lines before and one after the desired text.

Broken[]

Ever since the bug that prevented links from being added to wall threads started a few days ago, this script no longer works. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 23:10, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

Parameters[]

Is there any way to use parameters? Joshuabirger (talk) 12:34, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Not via the template list, I believe, but you can do that via the "Type wikitext" box. For example {{unsigned|HumansCanWinElves}} will result in —Preceding unsigned comment added by HumansCanWinElves (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Request[]

Hello,

I wanted to leave a request about adding functionality for Message Wall replies, since they do not seem to have an option that allows templates to be added. If one of the authors is reading this, tell me what you can do or what I can do to help if possible. Thanks. BlindCartographer (TalkContributionsActivityGuestbook) 50 15:41, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Should technically be possible, but it'd need some work as this script was intended for leaving users a message on their wall. You're welcome to give it a shot if you want. --Sophie ♦ 15:47, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
