This is madness

No, this isn't sparta, this is the preservation and recreation wiki.

I knew that users would start to recreate the Oasis skin as soon as the news of UCX came out, but damn, this is amazing ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 12:39, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks! --ThunderDragon2 12:51, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Great script

I would much rather use this than Fandom Desktop. 10/10. Jamesandedward7 (talk) 22:01, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Issue With OldWikiaBar

I've noticed while previewing this script there's a minor issue with OldWikiaBar, it causes the separators between the toolbar items to be duplicated. OldWikiaBar uses ::before while this stylesheet uses ::after.

Hello and thanks for reporting this issue! I've now made it so that the ::before is hidden through the use of display: none;. --ThunderDragon2 07:27, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Body class for integration purposes

Hey, would it be possible for this script to have a JS file that adds a class to the body to indicate this stylesheet is installed so it may better integrate with other scripts? Thanks!

Could you specify the name of the class? Like oasisrevived-is-active, oasis-is-revived, or just oasisrevived? ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 04:14, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Would you ask users to install that JS page for the sole purpose of identifying what stylesheet they are using? Nam 05:21, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Maybe an alternative would be to set a CSS variable to identify the presenting of the stylesheet:
:root {
    --oasisrevived-active: 1;
This will allow scripts to easily check whether the stylesheet is loaded. A clever variation of this may even allow other stylesheets to react. Nam 09:44, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Personally, I think that adding JS solely to allow other scripts to detect that it is installed is unnecessary. A CSS variable could be added to root like HumansCanWinElves suggested above, though. Joritochip (talk) 18:03, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
I didn't really think of that idea before (quite clever!), that would suffice just as well.
I'm quite late to the conversation, but the JS script that has been created adds the class oasis-is-revived to the body --ThunderDragon2 11:56, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Great initiative

Just wanted to chime in. Great initiative.

I literally cannot see a single improvement concerning the new FandomSkin. Thanks for making sure some of us can still use something that works. JVC-Portia (talk) 11:35, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Does demoing OasisRevived on its page violate the customization policy?

I think it does. Not that anyone will enforce it. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 8 Jul 2021 9:13 PM Pacific

Well, UCX does it, my script AutoHeadingNumber does it, WikiaNotification does it too. As long as the demo is accepted in DemoScript.js, it is assumed that it is accepted, because if not, it would show up as rejected in the revision review ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 04:20, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
It does, but Staff were fine with making DemoScripts an exception. -- Cube-shaped garbage can 07:58, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Problem with reverting to former versions of a page.

Small issue I noticed. If you use the skin and want to revert multiple edits to a page by going to the history page, selecting a version some lines down the list of revisions and then clicking "edit" to go back to the selected version, that doesn't seem possible to do with this skin. Other than that, nice work! JVC-Portia (talk) 03:44, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for reporting this issue! I've tried to do what you have described here, and it seems to work fine. Did you go to the preview of the old revision and click the "edit" button? In certain pages, the button doesn't work/only a section can be clicked. --ThunderDragon2 05:21, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, that was exactly what I did. I tried to revert I think four edits to a page all at once by going to the preview of the version I wanted. JVC-Portia (talk) 20:01, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
It might be the issue with the edit button I mentioned previously, as it works normally in vanilla FD. A temporary solution I can give is pasting &action=edit at the end of the preview's URL. --ThunderDragon2 08:41, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

Oasis-style tabbers

In case you are interested, I have placed code for Oasis-style tabbers on TabberDesign. A word of warning though - if a portable infobox is placed inside a tabber, the infobox tabs would be affected too, because the HTML markup is similar in FandomDesktop. Preventing this side effect will require very complicated CSS selectors. Nam 18:37, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for suggesting this! I'll experiment with the code from TabberDesign and I'll see what I can do with it. --ThunderDragon2 14:07, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Is there a way…. make UCX look somewhat like Vector (aka the Wikipedia, Miraheze, and default-vanilla-MediaWiki skin)? I'm probably the only person on Wikia who actually likes UCX, as the article text area is pretty much in the same area as it is in Vector, but I still prefer Vector. KMFStudios (talk) 21:32, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Definitely not feasible using only CSS, but probably possible using JS. ― Joritochip (talkcontribs) 21:51, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
I've seen many of the Dev Wiki residents do black magic with JS and CSS, Pseudo-Vector exists, but it is made for the even older Monobook skin ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 23:37, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

New Fandom branding

OasisRevived currently uses Fandom's old logo and color scheme for the global navigation, but this could change if desired. If you have a preference between the new and old branding, put your thoughts below and I might update OasisRevived to use the new branding if it is what people want. ― Joritochip (talkcontribs) 16:17, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Either add variables for the user to customize, or create a separate stylesheet. Which one works best ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 23:29, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Breaks search bar

Using this breaks the search bar on the wiki —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bidiguilo (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Could you describe or provide an image of how the issue looks? --ThunderDragon2 04:27, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
I'm not the OP, but I took a screenshot myself. The search bar is sticky. Wither the Striker 12:35, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
That seems to happen when NoGlobalNav is used with this stylesheet. The search bar is not affected because it is added by the JS, hence why it is static. --ThunderDragon2 13:32, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
For what it's worth: The search bar appears to be broken in the demonstration code on the page here itself--I don't have any FandomDesktop specific user CSS/JS yet and I tried to do a search off this page's mainspace counterpart and it just... didn't appear to bring anything up at all. (EDIT: Or rather, there's a "search" in the header that does nothing and misdirected my brain--UCX search popup off the local header works fine.) - Citrusellaeditswikis (talk) 19:57, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
It seems to be a matter of screen/window width. The stylesheets hides the search bar when the width is less than 1500px (means, all mobiles and tablets and some laptops...). I'm not sure what's the intention.
.global-navigation__search-input-wrapper {
	align-items: center;
	display: none;
	flex: 0 1 auto;
	padding-bottom: 3px;
	transition: flex .2s;
@media only screen and (min-width: 1500px) {
	.global-navigation__search-input-wrapper {
		border-bottom: 2px solid #00d6d6;
		width: 100%;
		display: flex;
Nam 21:07, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
The search bar is hidden in those conditions in Oasis, which is why it is the same here. Only thing is, clicking on the icon makes the search bar appear, and that detail wasn't included in the stylesheet. --ThunderDragon2 07:28, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Making suggested pages appear in the search bar

Hello! I really like this stylesheet, but there's one think I'd like to ask. On Oasis or through FandomDesktop's search function, typing causes page names with the text to appear. However, the search bar added by OasisRevived doesn't do this. Would it be possible to add this? Captain Cape (Cape's Talk) 16:19, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Could you make the front less sharp, like how the fronts are in discuss? The fronts are the same as the fandom design —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosestar48 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Place the following code into your global CSS under the @import statement to use the Rubik font (same one used in discussions) instead:
:root {
    --oasis-revived-font: Rubik, sans-serif !important;

Is it possible for search suggestions to be implemented?

First off, thanks a lot for making this available for use. It's a lifesaver after they forced their ugly new design on everyone with no option to opt out.

I would like to know if it's possible to make it so that search suggestions show up when using the search bar. Thanks. Nitrate55 (talk) 08:24, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

it's not really like oasis...

Space between Page Headings and the Background

Hello there!

Loving the work you have done with this. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the gap between the top of the page and the background as that would be much appreciated. Any advice on being able to slightly decrease page width would also be appreciated!

Here is what it would ideally be like.

Here is what it looks like currently.

And here how it makes my username on my personal page appear like.

Cheers! Impishly yours, Imp (Say Hi?!) 15:39, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for reporting this! The recent edit to the CSS page should have fixed the issue with the user profile and you can add this to your personal CSS to slightly decrease the page width:
.resizable-container {
	width: 75%;
--ThunderDragon2 16:51, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Appreciate the prompt handling of the issue. Thank you! :) Impishly yours, Imp (Say Hi?!) 00:56, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Several issues about this:

1. The search bar doesn't work

2. Pages are too wide

3. The wiki background doesn't work on Wikia wikis

4. The user icon and the bell icon are enclosed by a rectangle that overflows the fandom top bar

5. The bell icon is missing in Wikia wikis

6. Section titles and Section edit buttons are not changed

7. In a user page, the username is squashed against the wiki top bar

Would rlly appreciate if you fixed it!Zongshu Wu 14:51, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for reporting these issues!
1. Many people have complained about that. I initially didn't implement it because I didn't know how to do so.
2. You can add this to your personal CSS to slightly decrease the page width:
.resizable-container {
	width: 75%;
You can adjust the percentage to your liking.
3. and 5. I will have to check that.
4. and 7. These should be fixed with the recent edit to the CSS page.
6. It might be changed in the future.
--ThunderDragon2 16:51, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
The bell icon not showing on Wikia wikis is not something we can fix, since it does not show on the global navigation without OasisRevived either. — /joritochip/tc 16:52, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing! (Your attitude towards this is way better than the fandom staff XD) And I found that 74%, not 75%, exactly matches the Oasis width. Zongshu Wu 12:01, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Problem with moving pages with OasisRevived

Apparently I can't move pages normally with the skin installed. It won't let me move to mainspace. I can't scroll up with it installed.

image here with the error. MettytheCutiefly (talk) 16:03, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Seems like either a z-index issue, a padding, or margin issue with popups. For a temporary solution, append &disableusercss=1 to the move page's URL and it should disable OasisRevived temporarily as long as you are in the page. ~ Headquarter8302yeet G'day mate 23:44, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Weird Thing?

For some reason, when I opened up a page, the distance for the paragraphs was abnormally long and made it kind of hard to read. Might be a bug.

Either way, excellent skin! Hey Hey! (talk) 21:19, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

More accurately, the space between paragraphs has been doubled since the September 8th update. Also not being sarcastic when I say it's an excellent skin. Hey Hey! (talk) 12:46, 12 September 2021 (UTC)NZ9002

do you can make the search suggestions appear when you put in text in the search? so you type in text and click without having to enter another page to enter the page u wanted to enter Bidiguilo (talk) 02:01, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

Navigation bar

Is there any way to fix the navigation bar (where the logo is among other things) or is that beyond the capability of css/js.

By fixing I mean making the navigation bar part on the same "page" as the text and body of the page, whereas Fandom i think changed it so the navigation bar is "above" the body, it's own separate thing. Jamesmcavoyfanclub (talk) 18:32, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

The Discuss page still looks like fandom, not oasis revived Rosestar48 (talk) 13:59, 15 October 2021 (UTC) Rosestar48

You cannot customize discussions, it’s not possible. Joshuabirger (talk) 19:31, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
It is possible, just not from inside Fandom. You can use something external like CustomizeDiscussions or Stylish to inject into the page. Currently the JS wouldn't work as it uses, but the CSS for the global nav does work. With a few tweaks and maybe an additional discussions-only stylesheet, it could be made to work. 30 Caburum ✉︎📄︎📣︎ 22:24, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
I have added the necessary CSS to make the global nav work on discussions. So, if you want OasisRevived on discussions, you can import it using a browser extension like Stylus. — /joritochip/tc 23:37, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
