Personal use only?

Any reason why this should be only for personal use? This functionality is included in the user prefs page already, so making it only allowed for individual use is pointless because it would only benefit anonymous users who can't install this JS because they don't have an account.

I assume it’s personal use because it isn’t exactly useful for sitewide usage because some users might not to have it be built into an individual wiki. I can’t confirm this though. 90 Paramount1106 ✉️ 📝 02:43, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
There is not a particular reason that it was marked as personal only, I usually just mark things that I am not sure about as personal only to be on the safe side. I don't see anything in the customization policy that might prevent this from being sitewide, so it could probably be changed. Joritochip (talk) 02:53, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
I don't think it is against the customization policy, but you shouldn't add it site-wide because it's a feature Fandom should be adding by default at some point in time. So, hopefully, if you added it site-wide, you would have to remove it shortly after; however, we don't know when is it coming out so... — bitomic (talk!) 17:40, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

This script and the built-in toggle

Regarding the new built-in toggle for swithcing skins, the page says that the script is still useful if you want to switch theme without reloading. But I believe the most significant advantage is that the script lets you switch theme temporarily. The built-it toggle changes your Preference and affect all wikis, ignoring the wikis' default theme and the fact that some wikis are not compatible with both themes. Nam 06:28, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

I noted that this also provides a temporary toggle in the note on the page as well. Joritochip (talk) 06:31, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

I noticed a particular issue with the ReferencePopups script, the Popup colors don't change when switching with the ThemeToggler as opposed to normal Fandom-built-in-switching. Is this fixable? Quamboq (talk) 16:02, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

This is not a problem with ThemeToggler. You will need to change the CSS for the reference popups using the class .refpopups-box to change the colors. —Moviesign (talk) 15:23, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Problem with Background Image Positioning

Sometime after Fandom added full-size background image support to Theme Designer, the ThemeToggler script no longer renders the background image in the same way that changing your preferences does. The --image-ratio of the image is different in the two cases. Examples are shown in the screenshots.

Using Preferences, image ratio is 0.66650648726574

Using ThemeToggler, image ratio is 0.62478000703977

Moviesign (talk) 15:58, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

From what I can say, user scripts have no way to know what the background definitions of the other theme are, except the background image itself which is part of the theme stylesheet. So it's not just the image ratio, it's even whether the image is full-size or not. Nam 16:46, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
I have fixed this particular issue. However, there is still an issue pertaining to backgrounds where ThemeToggler cannot detect if a wiki has one theme background set as full height and the other theme background set as header... so currently both theme backgrounds will have the same behavior that was present on page load. Not sure how to fix this, but I will try to look into it later. — /joritochip/tc 00:11, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
