  • Hello, I want to ask that do the code on ModernWikiActivity page still works? Because I've added this code:

    @import url("/load.php?mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:ModernWikiActivity.css&only=styles");
    .activityfeed > li {
        --mwa-edit: #feaf09;
        --mwa-talk: #0aff64;
        --mwa-cat: #0af0ff;
        --mwa-new: pink;
        --mwa-font: Georgia, serif;
        --mwa-link-transform: lowercase;
        --mwa-text-transform: none;
        --mwa-avatar-radius: 2px;
    }

    to MediaWiki:Common.css on my wiki but none of the effect shows up. Please help.

    • For starters, you'll need to remove the stray JS that's been added to Common.css (like the window.UserTagsJS block). Then you'll need to move those styles into Wikia.css, and ensure all your @imports are at the top of the stylesheet. Consult this guide—particularly this flowchart—for details.

      You mean I have to move the code I've written on the top of Wikia.css page? But on UserTags page, I thought it said the code of window.UserTagsJS needs to be put in MediaWiki:Common.css?

      Not quite. As I outlined previously, you need to: (i) remove everything that isn't CSS from your Common.css (which includes the JS block that starts with window.UserTagsJS = { and the malformed JS block that starts with .MessageWallUserTags {); (ii) move the contents of Common.css into Wikia.css (which it appears you've already done); and (iii) move the @imports to the top (and ideally combine them).

      You're mistaken; both UserTags and MessageWallUserTags explain that this configuration should go in MediaWiki:Common.js.

      (As an aside, historically there was a functional difference between Wikia.css/Wikia.js and Common.css/Common.js. These days, that difference is no longer significant, and it's better to simply move your code from Common.css/Common.js into Wikia.css/Wikia.js. If you find documentation that refers to Common.css or Common.js, treat that to mean Wikia.css or Wikia.js respectively.)

      Thank you so much. It has been fixed now.

    • Addendum: WRT combining @imports, in your case they can be combined into:
      @import url("/load.php?mode=articles&articles=u:dev:MediaWiki:FandomizedAchievementsSystems/code.css|u:dev:MediaWiki:FandomizedThemeDesigner.css|u:dev:MediaWiki:MessageWallPagination/code.css|u:dev:MediaWiki:PrettyUserTags.css|u:dev:MediaWiki:EditorSourceMinimal/dark.css|u:dev:MediaWiki:ModernWikiActivity.css|MediaWiki:Wikia.css/Infobox.css&only=styles");
